Hot-dip galvanized slit strip and pickled tubes for special end products

When it comes to the durability and value of furniture and furniture components, steel is an essential material, especially when it is effectively protected against corrosion.

Wuppermann offers the furniture industry a wide range of unmachined or machined semi-finished products in various surface finishes from a single source. These include prefabricated, pickled or hot-dip galvanized slit strip for construction-reinforcing parts on the one hand, but also prefabricated products made of flat steel, tubes or profiles.

In the case of unprocessed products, we specialize in the preliminary product for pull-out rails, which can be found, for example, in kitchen furniture. Material properties are adjusted to customer requirements. To ensure the smooth running of pull-out rails, Wuppermann supplies hot-dip galvanized steel strip with a maximum surface roughness in the longitudinal and transverse directions of 0.5 µm. Pickled steel strip is supplied with a higher roughness to ensure optimum adhesion of coatings applied in further processing operations.

Our pickled tubes are used to produce telescopic lifting columns for height-adjustable desks and chair frames. By processing the tubes according to specifications, e.g. specific hole patterns and recesses for assembly, we create real added value for our customers.

Pickled tubes with special geometries according to customer specifications are in turn processed into design radiators. The shaped tubes for this purpose are characterized by extremely tight dimensional tolerances, precise processing and flawless surfaces and are ideally suited for automated further processing. The position of the tube weld seam can be freely chosen. This is an example of how the requirements for the end product are already incorporated in the first production steps. Low weight and very tight dimensional tolerances at the connection points make Wuppermann's tubes the optimum component for the furniture industry.
