ALL-ROUND GALVANIZING FOR ULTIMATE CORROSION PROTECTION
Wuppermann Austria GmbH is one of three production sites in the Flat Products Business Unit. The company manufactures narrow galvanized strip as well as galvanized tubes and profiles with exceptionally high corrosion protection, particularly for use in the construction and automotive industries.
From the mid-1980s onwards, the increasing quality and the increasingly small size tolerances of hot wide strip saw the latter progressively replace cold-rolled strip. It was this development that prompted Wuppermann in 1987 to found Wuppermann Austria GmbH, in Judenburg, Austria, together with co-partner voestalpine Stahl GmbH, principal supplier of the primary material. In 1990 a compact production plant for galvanized hot-rolled strip went into operation in Judenburg. The products feature zinc-coated edges and are therefore completely protected against corrosion.

Commitment to the region
As one of the largest employers in the Judenburg area, Wuppermann Austria GmbH offers a number of traineeships for production technicians each year. In addition, the company is a partner to the local initiative "Kraft. Das Murtal", which aims to promote the Murtal region as an industrial location. The initiative is supported by more than 50 leading companies and organizations in the Judenburg, Knittelfeld, and Murau area.
