Wuppermann invests around €40 million in a new tube mill at the Altmünster site
Leverkusen, 10.07.2023 – At its meeting on 30 June 2023 in Altmünster, Austria, the Supervisory Board of Wuppermann AG approved the investment in the expansion of the tube mill at Wuppermann Metalltechnik GmbH (WMT). Tubes, tube components and other parts have already been manufactured at this site for over 60 years. The planned total investment is around 40 million euros.
WTopCarb: Wuppermann introduces new product with reduced CO2 footprint
Leverkusen, Germany, 19.06.2023 - Steel processor Wuppermann is now providing its customers with steel products with a significantly lower CO2 footprint with a corresponding certificate. The name WTopCarb stands for a galvanized hot-rolled strip with a physical reduction of the CO2 footprint to a value of less than one tonne of CO2-eq. per tonne
(1 t CO2-eq. / t) of galvanized hot-rolled strip. This means that WTopCarb causes significantly less CO2 than a commercially available comparable product: with a zinc coating of Z275, a galvanized hot-rolled strip causes on average about 2.2 t CO2-eq. / t of galvanized hot-rolled strip.
Wuppermann receives Best Managed Companies Award 2023
Leverkusen, 30.05.2023 - Steel processor Wuppermann has received the Best Managed Companies Award for the second time in a row. The award was presented to Kai Marwig, Head of Business Development and Communications at Wuppermann AG, by representatives of Deloitte Private, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and the Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie e.V. on 25 May 2023 in Düsseldorf.
Wuppermann celebrates official opening of new roll forming line
Judenburg, Austria, 3/5/2023 - On 25 April 2023, the Managing Director of Wuppermann Austria GmbH (WA) Hubert Pletz officially opened the new roll forming line, which was commissioned at the end of March, together with Johannes Nonn, Spokesman of the Board of Management of Wuppermann AG, the project manager Alexander Hartleb and other representatives from the Wuppermann Group.
Wuppermann Staal Nederland B.V. produces its own electricity thanks to solar energy
The Wuppermann Group commissioned a new photovoltaic system at its Dutch production site for flat steel in April 2023. The nominal output of the plant, which was installed on the hall roofs of Wuppermann Staal Nederland B.V. (WSN), is more than 1,700 kWp. The planned annual electricity generation of the solar collectors at the Dutch Wuppermann site covers more than 3% of the company's own total energy consumption. The investment volume was 1.4 million euros.
